Guess Who's Back

Yo yo yo! Yewi is back!! Lol 😀

It’s been a long ass while I must say, almost 6 months. The combination of laziness and no inspiration is the reason why I’ve been absent. I just almost completely lost interest in this and there was just no inspiration. I even considered closing this blog but for some reason, I decided against it.

My first post this year. Wow! I’m covering my face in shame right now lol. I attempted writing some posts but they just looked terrible to me so I gave up. Anyway it feels good to be back. I don’t even know what to write about but I just know that I have to write. It’s been too long now. Besides, I’ve been at home for a month and counting now, not doing anything so basically I feel useless and idle. While I wasn’t writing posts of mine, I read lots of blogs since I have very little doing. Shout out to the good people ofTheNakedConvos, they’re doing a fantastic job.

Well so far, it’s been a good year for me, thank God. I’m done with my 3rd year, whoop! I’ve made a couple of new friends and my family seems closer than ever before and that’s basically all that matters. For Nigeria, however, it’s definitely not the same. What with all the various problems from the fuel subsidy issue, to the various bomb blasts, to the Uni(MAU)lag student protests, to the Dana plane crash and now the bribery allegation scandals between a member of the House of Reps and an Oil Magnate. All in 6months! I sincerely hope the next 6 months have good things in store for Nigeria because I think Nigerians are nearing their breaking point. The Government has misplaced priorities and instead of them to address the ever increasing problems, they’re just there doing God knows what. It’s like the country is growing backward and not forward. Other countries who were way behind us before are now gradually overtaking us. Sigh. God help this nation. Amen. Anyway, I’m not ranting about Nigeria. I don’t have the strength for that abeg.

On to other things.

Ok let me talk about Big Brother. Since I’ve been idling at home and getting fat, I don’t have much to do so I’ve familiarized myself with the housemates. I mean I don’t sit down continuously and watch it for hours like a jobless person (which unfortunately I am >_>), but I basically know the people in the house. That DKB slap was epic. LOL. Serves Zainab right when she was twisting in front of him and saying ‘slap me neowww’ kmt. That girl sef. Always running her mouth and bitching about our very own Goldie. She was fun though and the house is definitely boring without her crazy, attention-loving self. As for that Goldie, hian! She went to make a fool of herself on international television because of man. That Prezzo that they said looks like babalawo lool. If the guy was fine, it would have still been better. But my girl is there blushing endlessly for this guy. Sometimes I cringe when I watch her. She even went as far as crying, vomiting and moping around because this guy said they were ‘just good friends’. I felt like knocking some sense into her head with that her horrid blonde weave kmt. Be falling Nigeria’s hand anyhow. And to think that she’s always forming tough girl in her songs and videos kmt. I hope it’s a stunt because if not babe has downgraded big time. She seems quite sweet and soft and reserved. Quite the opposite of what she’s perceived to be.

Anyway, so I said I read a lot of blogs and I read something on Exschoolnerd’s blog about opinions and how people live their lives based on other people’s opinions and it really struck me. A lot of people are so afraid of doing or saying things they really want to because they’re afraid people will judge and criticize them and so they end up not actually doing those things. You shouldn’t live your life in fear of someone else’s opinion about you. Someone that most likely doesn’t matter. In the end, you’ll live an unfulfilled life full of regrets and by then it may be too late. Don’t hold your life because of someone else who is busy living their life. In the end you’ll regret it.
